Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Utilization Review – Torrance, CA 90503

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Torrance, California (100% Remote)

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM PST). Every third weekend rotation required. Must work in Pacific Standard Time and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• Fully remote position supporting centralized utilization management across multiple service lines and levels of care including inpatient, Extended Hospital Outpatient, and observation
• 91-day travel assignment with 40 hours of paid orientation
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with a variety of acute and chronic diagnoses
• Laptop, keyboard, and mouse provided
• Flexibility to rotate between three facilities supporting the centralized team
• Patient ratio of approximately 40:1

Requirements:

• Active California RN license required (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 3 years of acute medical Care Manager/Utilization Management experience performing utilization review in a hospital setting (not health plan or medical group)
• InterQual certification and experience required (hardstop requirement)
• Epic charting system proficiency with recent use within the last 6-12 months (hardstop requirement)
• Medicare knowledge and experience with Medicare regulations including CC44s, ABNs, HINNs, and MCSNs (hardstop requirement)
• Experience with HMOs, IPAs, and California Medi-Cal programs strongly preferred
• Demonstrated skills in concurrent review, continued stay reviews, medical necessity determination, prior authorizations, and retrospective review
• Knowledge of admission criteria, care coordination, CPT coding, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission standards
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required
