Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Napa, CA 94558

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Napa, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Every other weekend required. Possible call depending on patient census. Float to postpartum, medical-surgical, and orthopedic units as needed. Contract duration: 13 weeks (91 days).

Highlights:

• 7 labor and delivery rooms with 14 beds; average daily census of 10 patients
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure smooth transition
• Opportunity to work with a full-service labor and delivery unit handling vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk obstetrical cases
• Seasoned travelers preferred; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays during assignment period
• Couplet care experience with mother/baby and newborn assessment

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
• Proficiency in sterile vaginal exams (required and non-negotiable)
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, cesarean section circulation and recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and high-risk deliveries
• Competency in administration of blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia, and pitocin management
• Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius or accept adjusted compensation
• Clean background check required; no exceptions for certain background findings
