Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Kodiak, AK 99615

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Kodiak, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, variable days and nights (07:00 - 19:00 or 19:00 - 07:00). Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week period. Weekend coverage required. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• 91-day assignment at a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• Facility-provided housing included during assignment (1-bedroom apartment, free parking)
• Low patient volume with approximately 10 deliveries per month and 1:1 patient ratios
• 4-bed Labor and Delivery unit with Epic charting system
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Opportunity to work with diverse patient populations including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Willingness to float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Core skills required: fetal monitoring, vaginal delivery assistance, postpartum care, newborn assessment, IV management, epidural assistance, cesarean section support, and patient education
