Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Kodiak, AK 99615

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Kodiak, Alaska

Schedule: Variable 3x12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00 - 19:00 or Night: 19:00 - 07:00). Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period. Weekend coverage required. Flexibility to float within scope as needed.

Highlights:

• 26-week travel assignment at a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• Housing provided by the facility during assignment in a 1-bedroom apartment at no cost
• Low-volume unit with approximately 10 deliveries per month and 1:1 patient ratios
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with free parking and flexible scrub color policy
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Core competencies include vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section, newborn assessment, fetal monitoring, epidural management, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
