Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float – Olympia, WA 98506

Start Date: November 3, 2026

Location: Olympia, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Patient ratios vary from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity. Weekend coverage required; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

  • Float pool position supporting multiple units including PCU, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and ER boarding patients
  • 325-bed short-term acute care hospital utilizing Epic charting system
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
  • May include charge nurse responsibilities on smaller units, managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination
  • 91-day assignment with 24-40 hours of orientation provided
  • Diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics with varied acuity levels

Requirements:

  • Active Washington State RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Must have nursing experience in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
  • Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with patient ratios of 4-6 patients
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Proficiency in PCU/step-down skills including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, ventilated patient care, central line management, and various specialized procedures
  • Willingness to float to PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry units as needed
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Clean background check required
