Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Tyler, TX 75701

Start Date: October 20, 2026

Location: Tyler, Texas

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00), 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage required (approximately half of contract shifts). Patient ratio 1:6. Floating to units of equal or lesser acuity may be required.

Highlights:

• Specialized medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focusing on renal and urological diagnoses
• Manage patients post prostate surgery, renal stones, and bladder/kidney surgeries
• Utilize specialized skills including 3-way catheter irrigations, bladder scans, and incontinency procedures
• Diverse patient population ranging from young adults through geriatrics, with medical-surgical and telemetry overflow
• 16-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with 16 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Active Texas RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
• Proficiency in accessing/managing ports, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and non-invasive airway management
• Skills in blood product administration, central line blood draws, wound care, PCA, PICC line management, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Geographic restrictions apply to certain local counties
