Job Opportunity – Physical Therapist, Acute Care – Chewelah, WA 99109

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Chewelah, Washington

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:20 AM - 5:50 PM (4x10-hour shifts). No weekends or on-call required. Patient ratio of 1:5-10. This position requires travel between two facilities approximately 23 miles apart, working acute care in the morning and outpatient coverage in the afternoon.

Highlights:

• Critical access hospital with 23 beds and a collaborative interdisciplinary therapy team including PT, OT, and SLP
• Diverse patient population across all age groups (infants through geriatrics) with various diagnoses including orthopedics, neurology, and post-operative care
• Dual setting experience working both inpatient acute care and outpatient clinic in the same day
• Lower acuity patient population in a rural community hospital setting with Epic charting system
• Reduced orientation period with 30 hours of non-billable orientation versus standard 40 hours
• Two pre-approved time-off requests available; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays

Requirements:

• Active Washington state Physical Therapy license (Compact license accepted if in hand at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Experience with acute care and outpatient settings strongly preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must be willing to travel between two facilities (approximately 23 miles) during shift
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required (no exceptions)
