Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neuro Telemetry PCU – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), 91-day assignment. Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule. Patient ratios 1:4 during nights, 1:5 on weekends.

  • Work in a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center with a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation
  • 29-bed Neuro Telemetry unit with daily census of 27 patients, including a dedicated 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team approach with dedicated mentors for new caregivers
  • Fast-paced environment caring for diverse neurosurgical and neurologic patients including stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring, and post-surgical cases
  • EPIC electronic health record system with comprehensive support services including IV teams, rapid response teams, and therapy services
  • First-time travelers welcome; floating between units may be required

Requirements:

  • Active Texas RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year required in relevant specialty
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Experience with 1:4 patient ratios and telemetry/PCU/stepdown settings
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management (including titration), vasoactive drips, insulin and heparin protocols
  • Experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
  • Charting system experience required; EPIC preferred
  • Level II Trauma Center and community hospital experience preferred
  • Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
