Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Lubbock, TX 79410

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period. Contract duration of 182 days (approximately 26 weeks).

  • Work in a Level IV NICU at a 181-bed children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • 43-bed unit with average daily census of 35 neonatal patients
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-4 depending on acuity
  • Self-scheduling model with flexible weekend coverage options
  • Opportunity for extended contract beyond 13 weeks if desired

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Level III or Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with patient ratios of 2-4 patients
  • Proficiency in advanced NICU skills including ventilator management, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, and care of neonates as young as 29 weeks gestation
  • Willingness to float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed
  • Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
