Job Opportunity – Labor and Delivery Nurse – Carbondale, IL 62901

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Southern Illinois

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week. Weekend rotation up to 2 weekends per 6 weeks, holiday coverage as needed. No call requirements.

Highlights:

• High-volume Labor and Delivery unit supporting approximately 400 patients and 120 deliveries per month
• Comprehensive obstetric services including 7 labor and delivery rooms, 2 dedicated operating rooms, and a 6-bed Obstetric Emergency Department
• Level II-E Nursery onsite for enhanced neonatal support
• Opportunity to provide care across the full spectrum of obstetric nursing including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and post-operative care
• Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment with physicians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia providers, and neonatal specialists
• 91-day travel assignment with competitive compensation including overtime and holiday pay

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Cesarean section circulator experience preferred
• Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• STABLE certification preferred but not required
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
