Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Wound Care – Bangor, ME 04402

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Bangor, Maine

Schedule: Day shift, 40 guaranteed hours per week, 91-day assignment through January 25, 2027

Highlights:

  • Specialized wound care position serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments, dressing changes, debridement, and ostomy care procedures
  • Serve as a clinical resource and educator for nursing staff on wound care, ostomy management, pressure ulcer prevention, and continence issues
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nursing staff, and community resources to optimize patient outcomes
  • Opportunity to participate in departmental and hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives and committees
  • Occasional staffing in outpatient wound center as needed

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Current Maine RN license or compact state license
  • BLS certification current or obtained within 30 days of hire
  • CWOCN or CWS certification preferred
  • Must be trained in wound care and ready to see patients independently
  • 1-3 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and team-oriented approach required
