Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Neuro Telemetry PCU – Lubbock, TX 79410
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule required. Must commit to working three of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Highlights:
- Work in a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center with a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation
- 29-bed Neuro Telemetry unit with daily census of 27 patients and 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5 on weekends)
- Specialized Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with four dedicated beds for continuous EEG monitoring
- Care for diverse patient populations including TIA/stroke, trauma, neurosurgical patients, and epilepsy monitoring
- Interdisciplinary team approach with support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and more
- EPIC electronic health record system in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Requirements:
- Active Texas RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year of recent experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios and telemetry/PCU/stepdown environments
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management (including titration), vasoactive drips, insulin and heparin protocols
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred; community hospital experience preferred
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile local radius
