Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:00). Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Requested time off limited to no more than 7 days per contract.

Highlights:

• 13-week travel assignment in a dynamic Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk obstetric patients and a culturally diverse population
• RNs circulate on cesarean sections and provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Unit features 11 rooms with 15 beds and an average daily census of 15-20 patients, approximately 20 visits per day
• Postpartum experience preferred; couplet care and newborn assessment skills highly valued
• 40 hours of paid orientation to support your transition to the unit
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of relevant experience

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:3
• Proficiency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, labor support, vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section circulation, postpartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support
• Willingness to float to meet facility needs within scope of practice (travelers float first)
• Two professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Must not reside within 50-mile local radius
