Description
Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery – Napa, CA 94558
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Napa, California
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Every other weekend required. Possible call depending on patient census. Float to Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic units as needed. Assignment duration: 13 weeks.
Highlights:
- 7 labor rooms with 14 beds and an average daily census of 10 patients
- Comprehensive Labor and Delivery unit with couplet care and full-service obstetrical support
- Interdisciplinary team support including Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
- Epic charting system utilized for electronic medical records
- Opportunity to work with diverse patient populations and high-risk deliveries
- 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in sterile vaginal exams (required hard stop skill)
- Strong clinical skills including neonatal resuscitation, cesarean section assistance, fetal monitoring, epidural management, and postpartum care
- Experience with administration of blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, and high-risk deliveries
- Two professional references covering one year of experience within the last three years
- Ability to float to postpartum, medical-surgical, and orthopedic units as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
