Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit Float Pool – Olympia, WA 98506

Start Date: November 3, 2026

Location: Olympia, Washington

Schedule: Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30). Nurse-to-patient ratios vary from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity. Float pool assignment across multiple units including PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry. Weekend coverage required; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays.

Highlights:

  • 91-day travel assignment at a 325-bed short-term acute care facility
  • Float pool role supporting diverse patient populations including ER boarded patients, telemetry, medical-surgical, and progressive care
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • May include charge nurse responsibilities on smaller units, managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination
  • 24-hour orientation period with opportunity to work with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Collaborative environment with support from LPNs, CNAs, and full clinical teams

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Must have nursing experience in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with patient ratios of 4-6 patients
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Proficiency in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, blood product administration, central line management, ventilated patient care, and various critical care skills
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Willingness to float to sister facilities as needed
  • Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
