Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Petaluma, CA 94954

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Petaluma, California

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:00). Variable start times may include 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, or 3:00 PM. Weekend coverage required with 3 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule (24-hour call shifts). One night shift call per week (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Daily patient census ranges from 6-25 across 4 operating rooms. 40 hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• 182-day travel assignment in a community hospital setting serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Strong focus on orthopedic procedures including sports medicine, total joints, and ortho fractures, plus general, gynecological, and urological cases
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Opportunity to work with advanced surgical equipment and technology in a collaborative environment
• Flexibility to float to nearby sister facilities as needed

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience; at least 1 year of recent experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong orthopedic skills are essential – this is a critical requirement for this position
• Proficiency in general OR, laparoscopic procedures, total joint replacements, and circulating responsibilities
• Willingness to float to nearby facilities and respond to on-call within 20 minutes when scheduled
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
• Clean background check required; facility does not accept certain background findings
