Registered Nurse (Case Manager/RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: West Hollywood, California
Facility: Inpatient Specialty Program
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Case Manager)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years inpatient case management experience
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: No
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No RTO in the first 2 weeks
Licensure & Certifications
- Active California RN license required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) certification (if applicable)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- State License verification required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- Fire Card (required only if previously worked at this facility for 6 months; otherwise provided onsite)
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of HMO and Medicare for inpatient, home health, and SNF settings
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-panel criminal background check within 6 months of start, updated annually
- Education verification and highest medical degree transcript/diploma required
- Drug screening panel within 1 year of start (excluding Marijuana/THC)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or declination)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal flu vaccination mandatory during flu season (Nov-April), with strict exemption policies
Competency & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required
- Competency Exam required
- Pass/Fail EKG assessment during orientation for certain units (mostly ICU, PCU, Med Surg, Tele, and select specialty units)
- Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (strict guidelines on photo quality and appearance)
- Review and sign facility policies including:
- Code of Conduct and Attendance Policy
- Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practices
- Social Media Policy
- Scheduling Guidelines (applicable units only)
- Acknowledgement of confidentiality policies (especially for remote/hybrid workers)
- Completion of required modules and timecard submission prior to start
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure if assigned to specific units (e.g., Cath Lab, Radiology, Oncology, etc.)
- Two professional references required, including one supervisory reference
Additional Notes
- Free or validated parking available
- No RTO (return to office) in the first two weeks of assignment
- Floating within scope expected to meet facility needs
This position is ideal for experienced inpatient case management RNs with strong knowledge of Medicare/HMO and Epic, seeking a travel contract in a well-established healthcare system in California.
