Location: Tarzana, California

Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine Tech)
  • Certifications Required:
    • CNMT, NMTCB, or ARRT
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Additional Certifications: Pending verification based on clinical track (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.)
  • Experience: New graduates accepted; first-timers welcome
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: No floating between units required
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending State License: Accepted if license is obtained within 4 weeks of submission

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • Must be completed within 45 days of start date
    • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and International Background Search (if applicable)
    • Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
  • Education Verification: Required for all candidates; international education requires additional documentation
  • State-Specific Searches: Required for Washington and Oregon placements (not applicable here but important for multi-state candidates)
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
  • Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask Test: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; annual update required
  • Immunizations & Vaccinations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Flu Vaccine (seasonal, required during flu season with declination option)
    • COVID Vaccine or Declination
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; instant tests not accepted
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; annual clearance needed

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • Additional Certifications: May include ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification depending on clinical track
  • State License: Must have a valid professional license; CPDH certificate required for RTs in California
  • Competency Exams: Required as applicable by profession/specialty (e.g., Medication Test, Color Blind Testing if requested)

Facility-Specific Training & Modules

  • WorkRamp Modules:
    • Core and specialty-specific modules required prior to start and annually
    • Modules assigned based on profession, specialty, and region
    • Epic training modules required for EPIC charting system users
  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required
  • Float Policy: Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance

Summary

This is a travel/contract Nuclear Medicine Technologist position in an outpatient setting in Tarzana, CA. New graduates and first-time travelers are welcome. The role requires specific certifications (CNMT, NMTCB, or ARRT and BLS), a valid California state license (must be obtained within 4 weeks if pending), and compliance with Providence Health and Services’ background checks, health screenings, and training modules. No weekend or on-call duties are required, and floating between units is not expected.
