Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Shift: MS Nights
Unit welcomes first-time travelers
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
Float required to like units or helping hands to unlike units
Every other weekend coverage
Scrubs: Any color, no logos

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) - mandatory
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable (expires annually)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
No explicit prior travel experience required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

I9 verification
Driver’s License/State ID
E-Verify
7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
Education verification (highest level) required
Fingerprinting onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
Photo for badge (clear headshot)
Complete employment application/resume
Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
7-year work history verification

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must renew annually
Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
TB questionnaire for positive results, renewed annually
Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competency Requirements

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
Color Blind Testing (online version accepted)
Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
Core Parts I, II, III testing or signed HIPAA form (for subcontractors)

Additional Notes

This unit is open to first-time travel nurses.
Fingerprinting clearance is required before working on the unit; orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending clearance.
Scrubs must be free of logos and can be any color.
Every other weekend coverage is required.
