Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Job Summary

• Position: Nuclear Med Tech (NMT)
• Work setting: Outpatient imaging center within a Heart & Vascular Institute
• Responsibilities: Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies
• Start Date: ASAP
• Daily caseload: Pending
• Floating between units: Not required
• Weekend shifts: Not required
• On-call: Not required
• Locals accepted: Yes
• First-time travelers accepted: Yes
• Pending state license accepted but must be obtained within 4 weeks of submission

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Certification: CNMT, NMTCB, or ARRT
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• State License: Must have California professional license in hand (CPDH Certificate required for RTs in CA)
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) but BLS and nuclear medicine certification are mandatory

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year in Nuclear Medicine
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Facility & Work Environment

• Facility Type: Outpatient facility
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Any color allowed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations & Health Documents:

  • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respirator Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, medically cleared annually
• Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates, updated annually

Onboarding & Training Requirements

• Providence WorkRamp Modules:

  • Core modules for profession required prior to start
  • Specialty-specific modules may be required depending on role and region
• Epic Training: Required for candidates working in Providence facilities using EPIC
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other exams as applicable
• References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
