Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Travel/Contract Position

Location: Napa, California
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
Total Staffed Beds: 200


Job Details

  • Schedule: Weekends and weekdays rotation

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years in Pharmacy specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other, if applicable)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)

  • State License (Professional License copy required)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)

  • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
  • Specialty-specific competency exams (e.g., EFM training for L&D RNs)

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)

Background and Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education Verification required for all candidates
  • Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in specialty (6 months for CNAs)
  • Skills Checklists updated annually (if applicable)
  • State-specific background checks and registry searches as required (e.g., Washington state requirements)

  • Parking: Free
  • Scrub colors and other facility-specific details as per unit
  • Floating policy: May be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance

Training and Modules

  • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
    • Core Modules by profession
    • Specialty-specific modules (if applicable)
    • Regional and facility-specific modules
    • Annual regulatory requirements
  • Epic training modules required for access and must be completed within orientation timeframe

  • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
  • Locals are accepted, but pending licenses are not
