Job Opportunity: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - Spokane, WA
Position Details
- Specialty: Social Services (LMSW)
- Location: Spokane, Washington
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift (Day shift)
- Weekend Requirement: No weekends required
- Daily Patient Load: 1:50-60+ (includes 1:1 patient care and group counseling)
- Start Date: ASAP
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Pending License: Not accepted; Washington license must be in-hand at time of contract signature
- Locals Accepted: Yes, within 50-mile radius
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year experience working with geriatrics (higher experience requirement confirmed)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Skills Required:
- Biopsychosocial assessment
- Documentation and Care Planning
- EMR System: EPIC experience is required
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Not required
- Block Schedule Accommodation: Yes (Monday-Friday schedule)
- Transportation: Reliable transportation required; all travel pairs must have their own transportation
Patient Population
- Adults aged 55 and older
- Low income, medically complex patients
- Patients with mental health diagnoses, behavioral issues, and/or substance abuse

- Any basic color scrubs
Licensing & Compliance
- Washington state license required prior to start
- Background checks and verifications required as per Providence Health and Services policies
- Various health and safety documents required including physical exam, immunizations, drug testing, and respirator clearance
- Must complete required Providence WorkRamp training modules and facility-specific compliance requirements prior to start
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination, COVID vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Fit mask testing (annual requirement for travel staff)
- Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel staff)
Documentation & Background Checks
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of relevant experience within last 3 years
- Background check within 45 days of start, including SSN trace, education verification, nationwide criminal checks, and state-specific searches
- Education verification required
- State-specific registry checks for Washington placements (e.g., OBRA registry for CNAs if applicable)
This position is ideal for a social worker with experience in geriatrics who is interested in a travel contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires strong assessment and care planning skills, proficiency with EPIC EMR, and the ability to work independently in a long-term care setting serving a complex patient population.
