Job Opportunity: Pediatric Outpatient Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift
• Shift hours: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• No on-call required
• No floating required
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Licensure & Certifications Required:

• California Physical Therapist License (CA PT License)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Pediatric and infant therapy experience mandatory

Additional Certifications (as applicable):

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track and facility needs

Documentation & Compliance Requirements:

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • TDAP vaccine (within 10 years) or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Providence-specific WorkRamp training modules must be completed prior to start (includes core, specialty, and regulatory modules depending on role and location)
• Epic charting system training required (transcripts must be submitted and validated prior to moving to paid status)
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) may be required

• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub colors: Navy blue for RNs; others provided as needed

Additional Notes:

• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours with some flexibility)
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and approved based on facility needs
• Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
