Job Opportunity: Pediatric Outpatient Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Pediatric Physical Therapy)
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts
• Shift Hours: Any 8 hours between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM; typical shift 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year pediatric therapy experience
• First Timers: Accepted
• On-Call: Not required
• Floating: Not required
• Local Candidates: Accepted within 50 miles radius
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Licenses & Certifications

• California Physical Therapist License (BLS and CA PT License required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – if applicable
• Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI)

Patient Population

• Pediatric patients including infant population (infant experience is a hard requirement)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required for all candidates
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year employment in last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
• Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates
• Immunizations:

  • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
• Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual)

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:

  • Core modules by profession and region
  • Specialty-specific modules if applicable (e.g., Pediatric Therapy)
  • Annual regulatory modules
• Epic training modules completion required (for applicable roles)
• Competency exams as applicable (e.g., medication test, fetal monitoring for L&D)

Additional Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and approved based on facility needs
• Facility allows calling off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
• Local candidates within 50 miles radius are accepted
