Travel RN Opportunity - Texas (Corsicana)

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Corsicana, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday (6-7 AM to 3:30 PM, variable)
• Call: At least 1 shift per week (3:30 PM - 7:00 AM), weekend call 1 per 4 weeks (call split between staff)
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
• No floating or block scheduling

Unit & Patient Population

• Unit: Day Surgery / Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Patient Mix: 80% Pre-Post operative, 20% PACU
• Beds: 23
• Patient Ratio: Varies
• Majority of patients are outpatient

Required Licensure & Certifications

• RN Licensure (valid in Texas)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience required
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Skills & Responsibilities

• Starting IVs for same-day surgery patients
• Basic admission assessments for same-day surgery patients
• Familiarity with Type I and Type II diabetic patients and medication reconciliation
• Ability to perform clinically sound discharge teaching for endocrine patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Stage II environment
• Shift accountability for Post Anesthesia Care patients
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and other personnel
• Utilize nursing process in accordance with Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and hospital policies
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel
• Team player in a friendly, supportive, and cohesive SDS team
