Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Location: Pella, Iowa
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Technologist completes appropriate laboratory testing. The role requires the ability to work with patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatric persons. Participation in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities within the department is expected.

Requirements

• Currently registered Medical Technologist (MT) or eligible for registration, ASCP or equivalent.
• Prior experience preferred; new hires may be trained into the position.
• Must be willing to meet on-call requirements, including the ability to respond to the facility within required time frames while on call.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required; new employees must certify within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer and clerical skills.
• Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
• Flexibility for shift rotation within the department.

Specialty Experience

• Prior experience preferred; no explicit minimum years of experience specified.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required.
