Job Opportunity: ER Social Worker (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (1730-0600)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Not required
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated at this time
• Local Travelers: Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
• Pending License: Accepted, but quick starts preferred
• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Social Services)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (must have prior travel experience)
• Special Requirements: Behavioral Health and Psychiatric experience required

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)

• Total Staffed Beds: 325
• Charting System: EPIC

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required
• State-specific background checks and registry searches as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
  • COVID vaccine or signed declination
• Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (with some exceptions)

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules including:

  • Annual Regulatory Requirements
  • Specialty-specific modules for Social Services/ER roles
  • Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
• Competency exams as applicable
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam if applicable

References & Employment History

• Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format
• Skills checklist updated annually if applicable

• No floating between units required
• No accommodation for block scheduling at this time
• Locals within 50 miles are not eligible for travel contract
• Behavioral health and psychiatric experience is mandatory

This position is ideal for experienced ER Social Workers with behavioral health expertise who have prior travel contract experience and are ready for a night shift travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting.
