Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy)

Location: Delta, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide quality occupational therapy care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, developing treatment plans, and helping patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning. Work includes directing aides and assistants, promoting patient independence, preparing patients for return to employment, evaluating therapy results, discharge planning, and ensuring continuation of care post-discharge. Maintain documentation, comply with safety and infection control policies, and participate in professional development and staff training.

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Current Occupational Therapy License issued by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
• Valid registration and certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• BLS certification required

Experience

• Previous experience in occupational therapy preferred (no explicit minimum years stated)
• Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions
• Understanding of human behavior, learning, motivation, and psychological research methods
• Familiarity with customer service principles and training design

Physical Demands

• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods
• Full range of motion in all major joints
• Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
• Ability to sit for up to 2 hours at a time
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment and computers

Working Conditions

• Indoor work in well-lit, ventilated areas
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials
• Potential risk of injury from moving patients and heavy equipment

Additional Information

• Responsible to the Rehabilitation Services Director
• Works closely with Rehabilitation Services Manager and clinical departments
• Supervises Rehab Aides
• Promotes and observes safety and security procedures actively
