Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Santa Rosa, California

Job Details

• Daily Caseload: Approximately 25 patients per day
• Floating: No floating between units required
• Start Date: ASAP
• On-Call: Not required
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 1 year in specialty
• Licenses:

  • California State License (CPDH Certificate required for RTs in CA)
  • ARRT (Radiation Therapy)
  • BLS Certification
• Certifications:

  • ARRT (T) (Radiation Therapy)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) but BLS and ARRT are mandatory for this role.

Skills & Equipment

• Experience with Varian 21 EX/iX equipment required
• ARIA skillset required
• EPIC charting system preferred

Contract Length Interpretation

• 13 = 13 weeks

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Comprehensive background check within 45 days of start
  • Includes SSN trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide checks, Education Verification, and others as applicable
• Education Verification: Required for all candidates
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
• References: Minimum 1 year of experience references from supervisors in a comparable specialty/setting
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, annual clearance for respirator use
• Fit Mask: Not required at this facility

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of Providence WorkRamp Core and Specialty Modules as assigned (specific to region and specialty)
• Epic training modules completion required
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Skills Checklist updated annually (if applicable)

• Radiation badges are issued by the facility (not the traveler’s responsibility)
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
