Job Opportunity: Patient Care Technician (Nursing)

Location: Aspen, Colorado

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

The Patient Care Technician assists with patient care under the supervision of physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses. Responsibilities include:

• Measuring and documenting vital signs
• Performing EKGs and collecting lab samples
• Assisting providers and staff with procedures
• Cleaning, inspecting, and setting up patient care rooms, carts, and equipment
• Ensuring supplies are stocked appropriately
• Providing administrative support such as ordering food and supplies, answering phones, and preparing admissions, discharge, and transfer paperwork
• Transporting patients to and from inpatient units, surgery, or radiology
• Initiating and participating in resuscitation efforts according to BLS guidelines
• Documenting patient care in compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
• Working in all inpatient and ambulatory care areas depending on staffing needs
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Providing developmentally and medically appropriate care for all patient populations and age groups

Qualifications & Requirements

• BLS certification required
• RN, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or EMT-B certification required
• IV certification preferred
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• High school graduate
• Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8,000 ft elevation)

• Travelers are responsible for securing their own housing; housing is extremely expensive, especially in winter. Consider nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs for more affordable options. Typical rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500/month.
• Not accepting any Return to Office (RTO) requests formally, but accommodations may be attempted.
• No prior travel experience requirement specified.
