Job Opportunity: Outpatient Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Napa, California
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Outpatient OT)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Patient Age Group: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Outpatient OT)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- First-timers Accepted: No
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend day (typically Sunday) every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Must be willing to float between Acute Rehab and other inpatient floors
- Block Scheduling: Possible, at manager's discretion

- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- California State OT License
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., ACLS, PALS) but BLS and CA license are mandatory.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years. Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide checks, education verification, and more.
- Education Verification: Required for all candidates.
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Immunizations & Health Documents:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates, updated annually.
Training & Competency Requirements
- WorkRamp Modules: Completion of required Core and Specialty-specific modules prior to start, including annual regulatory requirements. Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility.
- Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required for charting system access.
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other specialty-specific exams as applicable.
Additional Notes
- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance.
- Scheduling: Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager discretion.
- Locals: Local candidates are accepted.
- Pending Licenses: Not accepted; must have active CA OT license at time of submission.
This position is ideal for experienced outpatient occupational therapists who meet California licensing requirements and are comfortable working in a dynamic acute care hospital setting with some floating responsibilities and weekend coverage.
