Job Opportunity: Interim Physical Therapy Manager

Location: Bethel, Alaska

Position Summary

• Manage a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic.
• Support medical staff and participate in interdisciplinary team functions.
• Promote a team atmosphere and professional development of department staff.
• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and establish treatment plans.
• Optimize department revenue and manage expenses.
• Balance reporting, audits, and tracking with clinic demands.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal physical therapy practice guidelines.
• Coordinate an orthopedic specialty field clinic, including referral screening and prioritization.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to build administrative processes.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of active, full-time patient care experience in physical therapy.
• Previous managerial experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing in Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Environment & Tools

• Hospital-based physical therapy department with standard equipment (hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, electric stimulation modalities).
• Village-based treatment may require bringing portable equipment (theraband, ultrasound, etc.).
• Travel to villages via small, non-pressurized planes.
• Use of office equipment (computer, telephone, fax, copy machine).

Skills Required

• Strong communication skills, including ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and presenting complex information.
• Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic, ratios, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
• Computer skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations.
• Reasoning ability to follow detailed instructions and solve complex problems in administrative and patient care settings.
