Location: Eureka, California

Job Description

• Position is a temp-to-perm role; candidates must be open to transitioning to permanent staff after the contract.
• Not suitable for clinicians wanting to continue traveling after this assignment.
• Contract options: 13 weeks or 26 weeks, but permanent placement is expected.
• New graduates and first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• No floating between units required.
• Local candidates accepted.
• Pending state license accepted if license is obtained within 4 weeks of submission.

Experience Requirements

• Years of Specialty Experience: New Grad OK (0+ years)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a valid state license in hand within 4 weeks of submission.
• CPDH Certificate required for all Respiratory Therapists working in California (if applicable).
• Required Certifications (verify with Universal Data or Clinical Tracks):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other, if applicable)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Education verification required for all candidates.
• Drug screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024.

Additional Requirements

• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) may be required.
• Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:

  • Core regulatory modules
  • Specialty-specific modules (if applicable)
  • Regional and facility-specific modules as assigned
