Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Orange, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of chronic dialysis experience (hard stop). This is an outpatient dialysis role with specific shift schedules and requirements.

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Block Scheduling: May be accommodated at manager’s discretion
  • Local Radius: 50 miles (local rate available upon inquiry)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
  • Holiday Time Off: All holiday requests submitted as preferences
  • Scheduling Requests: Requests due to outside employment will not be considered
  • Travel Pairs: Not considered

  • ACLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • BLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • PALS (if applicable)
  • NRP (if applicable)
  • Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
  • State License (valid for California)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
  • IV Certification (if applicable)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (if applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)

Note: Certification requirements may vary based on unit and specialty; verify with clinical leadership.


Required Background and Compliance Documents

  • I9 Attestation
  • Government-Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for WA state OBRA search if applicable)
  • E-Verify Attestation
  • Background Check (within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated monthly)
  • Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
  • State-specific background checks as applicable (e.g., WA State Patrol Search)
  • Physical Exam (within 1 year, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO)
  • Drug Testing (10 panel within 90 days of start)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months, updated annually)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu Vaccine (required during flu season or declination)
    • COVID Vaccine or Declination
  • Fit Mask Testing (required for travel, updated annually)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (for travel, updated annually)

Training and Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency Exams (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
  • Skills Checklist (updated annually)
  • Specialty-specific WorkRamp Modules and Core Regulatory Modules (assigned via LMS platform)
  • Epic Access Training Modules (required for Providence facilities)

Additional Notes

  • RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted at time of scheduling
  • Pending licenses are not accepted
  • Float Policy Acknowledgement required (may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
