Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 4x10 hour days per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 ten-hour shift every 2 weeks)
• On-Call Requirement: 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend
• Weekend Requirement: Some Saturdays required as part of regular 4 shifts/week schedule; every 4th weekend on call
• Floating: May float within scope to Interventional Radiology (IR), Electrophysiology (EP)
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
• Time Off: One time off request per 13-week assignment, approved individually

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath procedures including STEMI, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, Structural Heart interventions (PFO, TAVR, Mitral Clip)
• Interventional Radiology: Lines, drains, embolizations, fistulas, stroke thrombectomy
• Neurointervention
• CRM Device implants

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• CTO (Chronic Total Occlusion)
• Peripheral interventions
• Venous access
• Rhythm interpretation
• Experience with Philips X-Ray System
• Use of atherectomy and thrombectomy devices
• Temporary LVAD support
• Experience with McKesson for Cath Lab and MacLab/Cardio Lab for EP

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Drug Screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, updated annually
• Respirator Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules including:

  • Annual Regulatory Requirements
  • Specialty Specific Modules (ER, L&D, Leadership roles)
  • Regional Core and Specialty Modules as applicable
  • Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
• Epic training modules completion required (specific to region and specialty)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Color Blind Testing if required by unit
• Competency Exams as applicable by specialty

• Candidates may be required to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance
• Time off requests are limited and must be approved individually
• Locals are not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
