Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Tele

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a medical, surgical, respiratory, behavioral health, joint, and emergency department setting. Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers. Demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care and long-range planning.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: 6 shifts per 6-week period
• Call Requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week period
• Float Requirement: As needed

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Meet organizational competency standards and participate in ongoing competency validation.

Requirements

Education & Licenses

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current RN license in New Mexico or compact license
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty required (Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or similar)

Orientation & Competency

• New hires receive preceptorship and must complete organizational and MedSurg-specific competency validations.
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specific orientation program.
• Completion of annual competency verification is required.

• This is a backfill position.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
