Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Respiratory Med-Surg (Night Shift)

Location: Zanesville, Ohio
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• 21-bed Respiratory Medical-Surgical unit
• Specializes in pulmonary disease care
• High-acuity, complex patient population
• Continuous telemetry monitoring required
• Dynamic environment with rapid patient turnover

Shift Details

• 36 hours per week
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult respiratory and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for quality patient outcomes
• Float within scope to similar Med-Surg units (Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, ED boarders)

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience
• Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips (competency test on Day 1; failure results in termination)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR mandatory (no training provided; lack of proficiency results in termination)

Additional Information

• Must be adaptable, efficient, and able to thrive in a high-volume setting
• Facility may cancel shifts up to 36 hours per 13-week contract
• Epic proficiency must be documented at submission
