Job Opportunity: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech
Location: Eureka, California
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Address backlog of over 300 patients needing sleep studies.
- Approximately 100 studies require scoring and resulting.
- Assist with education regarding scoring while completing sleep studies.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)

- PALS (if applicable)
- NRP (if applicable)
- Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, IV Certification, MAB, and others as applicable per clinical track.
- State License: Must have a valid professional license; CPDH Certificate required for Respiratory Therapists working in California.
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RNs as applicable.
- Tech Certification: Must be verified nationally for allied professionals.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; must be updated annually.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
Competencies & Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty.
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit.
- Specialty-specific training modules via WorkRamp LMS platform, including:
- Core modules for profession and region (California and Oregon specifics).
- Specialty-specific modules for ER, L&D, ICU, etc., if applicable.
- Annual regulatory requirements modules.
- Epic training modules required for certain regions and specialties.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors).
- Skills checklists updated annually as applicable.
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required; candidate may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance.
