Job Description

• Position for an Echo Tech in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Focus on performing regular echocardiograms (ECHOs).
• No vascular or stress echocardiograms required.
• High emphasis on delivering quality images and ensuring high physician satisfaction.
• Possible floating between clinic locations within scope.
• Weekend and on-call shifts are not required.
• Locals and travelers are both accepted with no rate differential.
• Candidates must be aware of Southern California commute challenges and cost of living.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Echo Tech)
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred (1 year will be screened, but 2 years is preferred and should be considered the requirement).
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Prior travel experience is NOT required.

Certifications Required

• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification is required.

Facility & Work Environment

• Outpatient facility using EPIC for charting.
• Parking pass provided.
• Located near major freeways, across from Disney Studios.

Key Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years. Must be updated annually.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccine or declination.
• Respirator fit testing required for travel candidates (updated annually).
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete Providence Health and Services required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:

  • Core modules for profession.
  • Specialty-specific modules as applicable.
  • Annual regulatory requirements.
• Epic access training modules required for Per Diem candidates in SoCal.
• Float policy acknowledgment may be required due to possible floating between locations.

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer with a 13-week contract in Burbank, CA. The role focuses on outpatient echocardiography with no vascular or stress studies. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience, hold ARDMS or CCI certification, and be prepared for Southern California commute conditions. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome. Compliance with Providence’s background checks, health documentation, and training modules is mandatory.
