Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Amarillo, Texas

Unit Details

Patient Population: Mixed Med/Surg and Intermediate Care patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 to 1:6 depending on shift assignment
Shift Options: 36 or 48 hour shifts, Days

Experience Requirements

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years preferred
Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Epic Experience: Required

Travel Radius

No local candidates accepted
Must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius

Required Certifications (as applicable)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
NIH Stroke Certification
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Required Competencies

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
Competency Exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)

Licensure and Verification

State License Primary Source Online Verification required
NURSYS Verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
Education Verification (highest level of education)

Background and Health Requirements

7-year Background Check within 1 year of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states)
Physical Exam within 12 months of start
Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Adult TDAP Vaccine within 10 years of start
Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
TB Questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, etc.)
Onsite additional drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed)
Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
