Job Opportunity: OT Pediatrics (Therapy/Rehabilitation)
Location: Apple Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Pediatric Occupational Therapy)
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts
- Start Date: ASAP
- Daily Patient Load: Approximately 7 patients
- Floating: No floating between units required
- On-call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Experience Required: Proficient and independent in specialty; first-time travelers accepted
- Holiday Time Off: All holiday requests must be submitted as preferences
- Scheduling Requests: Requests due to outside employment will not be considered

Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Must hold a valid California Occupational Therapy license
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification (verify if required)
- Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification) as applicable per clinical track
Experience
- Must be proficient and independent in Pediatric Occupational Therapy
- No explicit minimum years stated; proficiency expected
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
Required Documents and Checks
- Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug Screen: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator Fit Testing (annual, travel only)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Skills Checklist (if applicable, updated annually)
Compliance and Training Requirements
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Annual Regulatory Requirements
- Specialty Specific Modules for Therapy/Rehabilitation as assigned
- Regional and Facility Specific Modules as applicable
- Epic training modules completion required (if applicable)
- Float Policy Acknowledgement (may be required)
Additional Notes
- All time off requests (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and are subject to facility needs
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- No floating or on-call duties required
- First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience NOT required
