Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Job Summary

Responsible for pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and implements respiratory care plans. Executes various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue and White)
• Airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
• Delivery of aerosolized medications
• Ventilator setup and management
• Oral hygiene care
• Placement and maintenance of airway retaining devices
• Management of airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP
• Oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring
• Chest film analysis
• Blood gas collection and analysis
• EKG analysis
• Accurate and complete documentation
• Cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies
• Participation in CAP and JC surveys
• May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader
• Advanced skills may include:

  • Therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2)
  • Pulmonary Function Testing
  • Bronchoscopy assistance
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and waveform analysis
  • Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies)
  • Polysomnography
  • Patient transport duties

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Work Schedule

• Night shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7 PM to 7 AM
• Full-time position

• Must meet applicable competency expectations related to leadership and clinical skills
• Required certifications must be obtained within designated time frames per employer policy
