Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Valparaiso, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position in a freestanding Emergency Room (ER)
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
No on-call requirements
Floating required to other Emergency departments within the Northwest region only
Block scheduling is not an option
Patient care scope: Routine ED care from triage to discharge or transfer
Unit size: 10 beds
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
Scrub color: Navy blue
EMR system: Cerner
Orientation: 2 days

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Indiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS and BLS certifications
Skills in rapid assessment, IV start proficiency, medication administration, and critical care
Experience with Cerner EMR system

Additional Information

Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Travel experience requirement: Not explicitly stated, so prior travel experience is not required
No call requirements
Maximum allowed RTO (request time off): 4 days
RTO blackout dates or required holidays apply

This position is ideal for an experienced Emergency Department RN looking for a night shift travel assignment with floating responsibilities within a regional network of ERs.
