ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract in Waimea, Hawaii
Job Details
- Specialty: Nursing (ICU/CCU)
- Location: Waimea, Hawaii
- Employment Type: Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Schedule: 80 hours every 2 weeks, no exceptions
- Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Unit: ICU/CCU (4 beds/4 rooms)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 depending on acuity; additional nurse called if one patient is on a ventilator
- Additional Float Assignments: OB, Medical-Surgical (MS), PACU, and Emergency Room (ER) based on competency
Job Description
- Coordinate and provide care to patients with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions requiring ICU/CCU specialized services.
- After-hours PACU recovery duties.
- Emergency room experience is recommended.
- Hospital orientation through HR and in-service, followed by unit orientation with nurse manager (1-2 day shifts, then 1-2 night shifts) and completion of orientation/competency binder.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii
- Minimum of 2 years CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Emergency room (ER) experience (recommended)
Additional Information
- Holiday pay applies for hours worked on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
- Orientation and competency requirements must be completed.
- Must comply with facility onboarding and compliance processes.
