Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a competent Registered Nurse with pediatric cardiac experience, including care involving chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. The nurse practices independently in a critical care setting, providing both routine and complex care while managing clinical contingencies and delegating tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Meet organizational competencies related to leadership and clinical practice.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
CVICU experience within the last year; 0 years of CVICU experience acceptable.
Experience working with pediatric patients required.

Certifications & Licenses

Valid RN license in Texas.
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
