Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN

Location: Lamar, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. Responsibilities include:

• Performing assessments and monitoring labor progress
• Preparing for C-sections and inductions
• Administering care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care
• Providing patient education and emotional support
• Preparing delivery rooms and coordinating transfers
• Administering IV medications
• Adhering to infection control principles and OB department policies

Work Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census
• On-call required

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current Colorado licensure
• Current CPR certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Obstetrics care preferred

Skills:

• Knowledge or interest in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursing care
• Skilled in sterile technique and infection control
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases possible
