Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• ICU setting with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float required
• Weekend shifts required
• Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
• Open to first-time travelers
• Minimum 1+ years of ICU nursing experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience, with recent Med Surg experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• I-9 verification
• E-Verify compliance
• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender registry, education verification, fingerprinting (completed onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements)
• Education verification with highest level confirmed
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Unit-specific skills checklist annually
• Work history verification for the past 7 years
• Completion of employment application/resume

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome
• Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting onsite during orientation before starting work
• Clear headshot photo required for badge issuance
• Various competency exams and core testing may be required depending on role and agency status
