Job Description

• Position: Urgent Care Registered Nurse
• Shift: 4x10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, holidays required
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Schedule Restrictions: No requests for time off (RTO) can be accommodated
• Locals accepted within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Urgent Care experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS required
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and others may be required depending on unit assignment (verify upon qualification)
• Medication and EKG competency exams required during orientation for certain units
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required
• Fire safety training required within first 6 months of assignment
• Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication during orientation

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N95 or equivalent)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; additional requirements if history of positive TB
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Flu vaccine (mandatory during flu season)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or titer
• Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding Marijuana/THC)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including nationwide and international searches if applicable
• Education verification and highest degree documentation required
• Two professional references required, at least one supervisory

Additional Information

• No schedule restrictions or time-off requests allowed
• Photo for badge must meet strict requirements (passport-style photo)
• Candidates must review and sign various policies including code of conduct, attendance, job hazard analysis, social media, confidentiality, and scheduling guidelines
• Modules and competency exams must be completed prior to or during orientation
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and credentialing requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with outpatient and urgent care or ER experience who are flexible with scheduling and able to comply with strict vaccination and certification requirements.
