Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Job Description
- Full-time 8-hour day shifts (typically 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with call required; additional call may be needed based on department needs.
- Patient population primarily adults.
- Work schedule includes Monday through Sunday coverage.
- No block schedules allowed.
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Vermont.
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
Certifications & Compliance
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) may be required depending on unit.
- National tech certification verification must be completed within 30 days of assignment start.
- Annual competencies and exams as required by specialty.
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
- Other vaccinations required or declinations accepted: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Pneumonia (if applicable).
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification required.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months.
- N95 fit test required prior to assignment and updated annually.
- Drug testing may be required depending on facility location.
- Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and checks required.
- Additional state-specific criminal background checks as applicable.
Documentation & Onboarding
- Complete and submit all work history details including bed count, EMR, and facility type.
- Explain any employment gaps over 90 days.
- Passport-style photo with plain light background required for badge.
- Auto insurance proof required if using a personal or rental vehicle.
- Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start.
- Various facility-specific policies and forms must be reviewed and completed prior to assignment.
References & Verification
- Two professional references from assignments within the last 3 years.
- Employment application and skills checklist within 12 months required.
- Verification of 2 years of most recent clinical work history.
Additional Notes
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays.
- Candidates must complete COVID questionnaire and vaccination attestation prior to start.
- Masking and social distancing protocols in place during assignment.
- Reliable transportation is essential due to limited public transit options.
