Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient

Location: Hobbs, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Job Details

• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (Wednesday through Tuesday)
• Pharmacy hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call required during 7-day on shift rotation (call schedule negotiable)
• Weekends required every other weekend
• No floating between units
• No block schedules required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in New Mexico
• Pharmacist with at least 1 year of experience
• Pharmacist experience within the last year

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of acute care pharmacy experience
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required (1st timers accepted)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually
• Drug Screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations/Vaccinations:

  • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
• TB Test: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
• Respirator Fit Test: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history

Training and Competency

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp modules and regulatory training (annual completion required)
• Other competency exams as required by specialty or facility

Additional Notes

• Float policy acknowledgment may be required (may float to other nearby facilities)
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
• On-call and weekend work expected as part of schedule
• No 48-hour shifts approved
